It feels so good to finally create something again! These are for a Winter Swap over at Crafty Mamas. The theme was a favourite hot tipple (tea, coffee, hot choc etc.) and something cosy to go with it. Well, figured I'd think outside the square a little bit and make a phone cosy and a cosy heat pack.

Using 100% Merino wool fibres, this OOAK design was needlefelted onto a pure wool felt background, then sewn with blanket stitch all around. For some reason it feels to me like the Aussie outback, hence the title! ;-)

Hot Frogz is made from a lovely soft cotton outer, filled with rice and can be heated in the microwave as a replacement for a hot water bottle, or to use on tired achy muscles. I wet felted some goggly eyes and sewed them on for a touch of whimsy.

I do hope my swap partner likes these and forgives my tardiness as it was due a few weeks ago!

Ring of Gnomes

These cute little gnomies are dancing in a circle around the fire. Made from hand dyed 100% wool prefelt, wooden beads, a pipecleaner or two and some icky glue (as can be seen in the photos!)

Gosh it's been ages! I won't even make excuses for my lack of posts these past few months. There's been some crafting and pottery going on but I've been on a roll the last few days. Somebody stop me!

Our pup Yogi has finally been born. For those who don't know, we've been waiting almost 9 months now for a St Bernard pup. The first litter passed away in January from an illness and since then it's been a waiting game for the next lot. Now there's more waiting for the lady first in line to take her pick. Here's a picture of the two girls I call Spanner and Halfcollar. One of these will be ours in 6 1/2 weeks!!!!

Some Resination pendants I made yesterday. I'm particularly loving these vintagey teardrop ones! 6 1/2 cm high by 5cm wide- they really make a statement. Some similar ones will be going in my etsy soon.

Last for now, a sweet Summer headband. Great for keeping hair off your face and frizzies under control while making an individual fashion(or not) statement. You'll have to excuse the creases- I've been wearing it!!

Needled this little fellow last night. He was supposed to be a dragon but everyone said he looks like a pig, so Drapig it is! I used merino wool, which isn't the best for needling, but I really wanted him purple. He was looking like Barney for a while there...

Burning Embers

This scarf is made from fine merino wool in the cobweb style which makes it light and comfortable, slightly seethrough with a couple of holes in places. The fibre was laid out with some beautiful soft silk added. It was hand felted before being set to dye in fiery rusts and browns. I love how this one has turned out! Measures approx 155cm x 15cm.

Peacock inspired wrap measuring 150cm x 40cm. Awesomely light yet snuggly warm, just right for cool Autumn evenings. Would look fab over black!. Made from fine merino with hand dyed silk. Will be available in my shop Wednesday night. Colour in these pictures is not quite right, it's more a teal blue base. :-)

...of things to come. I felted a couple of scarves over the weekend for the shop, well one scarf and one wrap, and took some random pictures along the way. I was going to show the finished items but it's raining kittens and puppies right now so will wait for better light!

I am a Rock...

...I am an iiiiiiisland. That song has been going through my head all afternoon as I made this, well just that line actually as that's all I know. I got a lovely smooth rock from Mum's garden the other day and thought I'd do a little embellishing! Can be used as pure decoration or as a doorstop as it weighs about 5kg ;-) It stands around 28cm high and the rock is about 15 x 10cms. Completely wet felted from merino and corriedale wools. Better pics coming as the red really is much redder!

Sweet li'l Patayta

A combination of wet and needle felt work created this little one. Standing approximately 20cm tall she has a mop of gorgeous mohair curls. Eyelashes to be added I think!
